Energy and Food Security in Alaska

Picture
In 2005 I managed the bald eagle and endangered bird investigations for the Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association (APIA) associated with EA development for installing wind turbines at Sand Point and Nikolski, Alaska and managed other avian studies associated with wind energy projects in Tatitlek, Alaska (for Knik Tribal Council) and Nelson Lagoon, Alaska and bird and bats studies in Koliganek, Alaska (for Marsh Creek, LLC). As the Program Manager for Energy at APIA (2006-2009) I represented the Aleut region organizations (A-Team) on many energy topics including oil and gas development, community and regional energy planning, site assessment and securing funding for feasibility studies and project development. In 2009-2010 I was the project manager for the Three-Capes renewable energy wind project for TDX Village Power Group which included the siting of wind turbines at 3 USAF long-range radar sites. I returned to APIA to manage the 2010 BIA funded Renewable Energy Development and Energy Conservation project and the 2011 DOE-funded project Weatherization and Energy Conservation Education and Home Energy and Safety Review in the Aleutian Islands. I’m currently managing the DOE-funded project Renewable Energy Development and Deployment in Indian Country, Feasibility of Tidal and Ocean Current Energy in False Pass, Aleutian Islands, Alaska (2012-2013).
