University of Alaska Wildlife Series Courses

Beginning in 1988, and for 13 years, I was Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology Faculty and Education Coordinator University of Alaska Southeast in Juneau, Alaska. During that time and for the School of Education, Liberal Arts, and Sciences I instructed correspondence courses, wrote and revised curriculum for Brown Bears of Southeast Alaska Bio 393; Teaching About Brown Bears, ED 693; Bald Eagles of Alaska's Coastal Rain Forest, Bio 393; Teaching About Bald Eagles, ED 693; Killer and Humpback Whales of the Northeast Pacific, Bio 393, and Teaching About Killer and Humpback Whales of the Northeast Pacific, ED 493.

Bruce Wright and Marshall Lind receive national award

University of Alaska Southeast Wins National Award

The Alaska Wildlife Series and instructor Bruce Wright have won the Conservation Education Outstanding Achievement Award for 1998. The award was presented by Jim Caplan, acting regional forester for the Alaska Region.

The Alaska Wildlife Series was designed for distance delivery and has been taught to people around the world. Wright is the instructor. The presentation ceremony was conducted in Juneau.
